Private Commission

A piece,
that begins with your story.

A private commission is not the purchase of a standard product — it is the commission of a work about you. A photograph is the starting point; the people, the relationship, and the story decide its final form.

Each piece is created individually around real people and a real story — never fitted to a generic figure template.

Forms of the work

We begin with three mature directions.

Single-figure piece

For one person — the you of this moment, or someone you want to remember.

Two-figure / relationship

For a relationship — the distance and understanding between partners, friends, or family.

Group commemorative

For a group — the people who walked a road, or lived a moment, together.

The process

Six steps, from story to piece.

01

Tell

Tell us who the piece is for, what moment it holds, and why you want to keep it.

02

People

Confirm the number of people, the relationship, and the features to preserve.

03

Photographs

Provide clear, well-lit photos with the face unobscured, from front and side angles.

04

Preferences

Choose size, proportion, scene, and material — or leave it to Ombra to suggest.

05

Contact

Leave your contact details and preferred time to talk.

06

Confirm

Review the summary and confirm. Submitting does not formalise an order.

Before you commission

How many people can a piece hold?

From a single figure to a group. The more figures and the more complex the scene, the longer the timeline and the higher the quote.

What photographs do you need?

Clear, well-lit photos with the face unobscured, from front and side angles; clothing and detail shots help us render more accurately.

How many rounds of revision?

Multiple rounds during the render and calibration stages, until the direction has your approval — only then does physical production begin.

How is likeness confirmed?

We confirm direction, styling, and overall look before production. Likeness is reviewed by a designer, detail by detail — not auto-generated.

What sizes and materials?

A range of sizes and materials, including ceramic resin, translucent surfaces, and soft gold detail; unsure, and Ombra will suggest.

How long, and can I set a date?

Usually 4–8 weeks. For dated occasions like graduations and weddings, talk to us early and we will plan around it.

How is it packaged and shipped?

Each piece is inspected, numbered, boxed, and shipped by a secure method.

How are photos and data kept private?

Without the client's consent, photographs, pieces, and personal information are never shown publicly.

On price

Quoted per proposal.

Each commission is quoted individually based on the number of figures, size, scene complexity, material, and craft. After an initial conversation, we provide a formal proposal and quote for the direction.
